Five people were killed and 10 injured in a horror accident in Gaza which saw crates of aid plummet from the sky on to people when parachutes failed to open. The drop took place in al-Shati, a refugee camp in northern Gaza which has been largely destroyed in months of fighting between Israel and Hamas. Starving people had run to greet the aid drop in the hopes of getting much needed supplies, only to be crushed by the rapidly falling crates. America has denied carrying out the failed drop, and it is not clear exactly who was behind it. Jordan, Egypt, France the Netherlands and Belgium are also carrying out aid missions in the narrow strip of land.
