Shocking video has been released of a suspect desperately fleeing from California cops by clinging to a moving vehicle before being shot by officers. Juan Valdez, 40, was tirelessly hunted down on January 27, 2024, by police officers who had been contacted by an individual who was ‘concerned’ for a friend who he had allegedly threatened to kill. Lathrop Police Department were dispatched to make a welfare check on the alleged victim and her daughter and found the woman, who described Valdez as ‘psychotic’, to be ‘visibly stressed’. Valdez desperately tried to escape the police pursuit, even speeding the wrong way down the highway at one point, but after multiple clashes with the cop cars his vehicle’s tires fell apart. He then attempted to carjack another vehicle in another crazed bid to escape law enforcement. He then attempted to carjack another vehicle in another crazed bid to escape law enforcement. Valdez latched onto the driver’s door of a vehicle and continued to cling to the car as it tried to speed down the highway. Eventually, officers were able to corner Valdez and, despite one final escape attempt, managed to shoot him as he banged on the passenger door. Officers provided medical aid to Valdez before he was then transported to San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment. After he was released from hospital, Valdez was booked into San Joaquin County Jai for five felonies. The felonies included carjacking, false imprisonment, evasion, resisting arrest and committing a felony while out on release/parole for a prior felony.
