A suspected gas explosion tore through a department store in Taichung, Taiwan on Thursday, leaving at least four people dead and 26 others injured, according to fire officials.
The blast occurred on the 12th floor of the building, where construction work was underway, causing significant damage from the ninth floor upward, the fire department said in a statement.
Among the victims, two of the deceased and five of the injured were tourists from Macau, according to Reuters. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
