Rogue Russians fighting on Ukraine’s side have given a first-person glimpse into their raids on Russian territory, revealing how they stormed across the border in armoured vehicles and tanks, opened fire on Putin’s men with machine-guns and managed to ambush an armoured vehicle inside their own homeland. Video shot by the Freedom of Russia Legion, Russian Volunteer Corps, and their allies gives a glimpse inside tense battles on the border that have seen two Russian towns fall into enemy hands and the city of Belgorod shelled so that 9,000 people have been forced to evacuate as the Russian army loses control of its own territory. The Russians who make up these units are opposed to Putin’s rule and his war, and have volunteered to fight on the Ukrainian side instead. It is not the first time they have carried out such raids, but this one is the largest to date and has been timed to coincide with Putin’s re-election to cause maximum embarrassment to the Russian despot as he begins a fifth term in power. #russia #war #ukraine
