Russian soldiers accidentally stormed their own trench in Donetsk. Drone footage shows a squad carrying out the assault. An armoured vehicle with a drone cage takes the troops into battle.
Gunfire then breaks out as the soldiers put down covering fire. The armoured vehicle retreats to prevent itself being blown up. Soldiers then throw grenades and move into the trench. Ammo caches are blown up and set on fire as the move. But unbeknownst to them, the trench was already captured. And in fact they were destroying their own supplies. It is not clear if any friendly troops were in the trench at the time. Novomykhailivka is heavily contested between the two sides. Parts of the village and its surrounds have changed hand repeatedly. It seems this trench is one such area, leading to the confusion. #russia #ukraine #war
