Ukraine’s ‘Skala’ assault battalion is battling Russia in Ocheretyne. First-person video shows a gun battle on the outskirts of the city. The Ukrainians spot a Russian position dug into a tree-line and attack. They use rifles to pin the Russians down, then toss grenades. But the Russians fire back, and bullets are heard snapping overhead. The cameraman relocates behind the wreck of a burned-out tank. And can be heard radioing for support as the video ends. More drone footage from the same brigade captures a Bradley attack. The IFV can be seen blasting houses where Russian troops are hiding. A third piece of footage from the same town shows the battlefield. Taken by a Russian soldier, it shows a road littered with destroyed vehicles that are the result of weeks of hard fighting. Ocheretyne is located to the west of Avdiivka, which fell earlier this year. It contains an important road and railway junction. Russia is trying to take it and push further into Donetsk oblast.
