A private passenger jet with five people aboard crash-landed on a busy Florida highway and collided with a vehicle on the ground in a fiery accident, killing two people. Moments before the private jet crashed, the pilots contacted the local Air Control Tower and advised that they were not going to make the runway after losing power in both engines. Both pilots died during the incident however all three passengers survived the crash. Footage from the scene shared on social media showed the aircraft engulfed in flames and smoke after it crash-landed on Interstate 75 near Naples, on southwestern Florida’s Gulf Coast, and came to rest beside a roadside retaining wall. A daring motorist ran across the busy highway and offered to help the surviving passengers. The Bombardier Challenger 600 business jet, which took off from Ohio, was on approach to Naples Airport in Florida.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office identified the pilots Edward Daniel Murphy and Ian Hofmann both from Florida as the two fatalities from the I-75 crash. #florida #I-75crash #naples
