Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade cleared Russian positions near Andriivka village. First-person combat footage shows the soldiers fighting in a tree-line. Bullets whistle just overhead as the troops return fire on their enemies. Drone footage then reveals the soldiers approaching a Russian dugout. They fight close to the hiding-spot, before one soldier uses grenades to clear it. A second Russian position is then shelled by Ukrainian artillery. As shells explode, the Russian soldiers decide to save their lives by retreating. At least seven men scraper through the trees, leaving two more behind. But as more explosions shred the trees, they decide to flee as well. Andriivka is a small but tactically important village south of Bakhmut. It was recently captured by Ukrainian troops after heavy fighting. Troops are now pushing further east, hoping to surround Bakhmut itself. They hope that will pin down some of Russia’s best soldiers in the city. Which will keep them away from more important attacks in the south.
