This is the moment a Ukrainian drone hit a Russian tank near Melitopol. Soldiers from the 47th Mechanised Brigade can be seen pursuing the enemy, with a company of UAVs and a kamikaze drone moments before impact. Then a large explosion and smoke can be seen from a distance.
In the aftermath, the tank burnt to the ground with very little remaining. Drones are being used extensively in the war in Ukraine. But Ukraine has been using so-called ‘FPV’ drones in its counter-offensive. The drones use virtual reality technology to guide them to their targets. They have proved particularly effective at taking out troops and vehicles.
