Despite the gunshot wounds sustained in Tuesday’s deadly mass shooting in Sweden, Salim Karim Iskef managed to make a final video call to his fiancée, Kareen Alia, to tell her he loved her.
The 28-year-old also asked her to take care of both his mother and herself before the call abruptly ended, the New York Post reported. When she tried to call him back, there was no response, and later she learned that he had passed away from his injuries.
Iskef was one of ten victims killed when a gunman opened fire at the adult education center in Orebro, where he was studying nursing. The couple had recently purchased a home and were planning to marry this summer.
