A French frigate escorting a container ship in the Red Sea shot down three Houthi missiles fired at the tanker using its own rockets. Video from the bridge of the frigate, believed to be the Alsace, shows crew dressed in flame-proof hoods to protect themselves from a blast firing an air defence missile from pods at the front of the vessel. More video then shows one of those missiles striking its target. The French Navy said all three Houthi missiles were taken down before they could cause any damage to the container ship. A second piece of footage, believed to have been taken from the same vessel, shows its Panther helicopter intercepting another Houthi cruise missile fired at a ship somewhere near the Gates of Grief – a strategic choke-point between the south-west tip of Yemen and Africa. The helicopter zooms in on the missile in flight, before it disappears from the scope as it is blasted out of the air. #houthis #french #israel
